Grant Researcher/Editor

Schoolhouse Partners is looking for several Grant Researchers/Junior Editors to ensure that the GrantSelect database-derived products, online and print, contain the most authoritative, up-to-date, timely, useful and accurate information available on the given subject(s).

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a breadth of foundation knowledge appropriate to the website/database and its users
  • Gather complete and accurate information from from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to: Foundation personnel, via initial telephone contacts followed by emailed forms; Subject-specific print publications, including journals, newsletters, quarterly publications, and directories; Authoritative, up-to-date, verifiable websites; Professional organizations, meetings, listservs
  • Input the above-mentioned information into the database on a daily basis
  • Expand scope and coverage of the database according to changes in the field as well as in response to customer (user) needs
  • Review and update existing data
  • Act as a team member of the Schoolhouse Partners organization

Preferred Skills:

Apple operating system (Mac OSX), Firefox, Microsoft Word/Excel, Safari

Minimum Requirements:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to edit within a database environment
  • General facility with technology, particularly database and web technologies

Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience as a writer/editor preferred
  • Knowledge of basic grant application process
