Grant Writer

Schoolhouse Partners is looking for several Grant Writers to assist with the funding needs of our educational clients. This subcontracted position requires a self-starter with strong research and writing skills. Grant Writers are responsible for researching and identifying potential grant funders and drafting/writing grant proposals.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English or related field demonstrating strong research and writing skills
  • Knowledge of basic grant application process

Responsibilities:

  • Funding Research - Research GrantSelect and other resources, including funders' websites and all printed application guidelines, to identify potential funding sources; Qualify potential funding sources by interest area; Maintain grant proposal due schedule.
  • Proposal Preparation and Writing - Gather appropriate documentation and information to substantiate need; Write concise, clear and accurate draft proposals; Assemble proposals including cover letters, proposals, budgets, and other required documentation; Maintain grant record submission and result chart.

  • Excellent organizational, leadership and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to research, analyze and evaluate data/information
  • Ability to apply research accurately and appropriately to match funding opportunities with needs
  • Sound judgment
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines for grant opportunties
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Shows discernment regarding sensitive, and often confidential, information
